SPACE 2007 @APSEC 2007(Nagoya, Japan)
The first international workshop on Software Productivity and Cost Estimation (SPACE2007) was successfully held in the city center of Nagoya (名古屋市) Japan, in conjunction with the 14th Asia Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2007).
The one day SPACE 2007 workshop attracted more than 60 conference participants from over 15 different countries. Most of the workshop attendees were from major Japanese companies and Universities.
We had received over 35 quality research paper submissions in 2007. Each paper was rigoursly reviewed by 3 program committee members whom are international experts in the area. Due to the limited amount of papers allowed in the proceedings, we had to only limit 8 papers to be included in the workshop proceedings. In 2007, the workshop proceedings book has been published by the Information Process Society of Japan (IPJ) (ISBN: 978-4-915256-72-1 C3040 ).
The highlight of the SPACE 2007 was that we had the honourable guest Professor Magne Jorgensen from SIMULA research lab, Norway, he enlightened the participants by delivering his keynote speech titled:
"Use Estimation Models and When to Use Expert Judgment?" - Prof. Magne Jorgensen
I would like to thank all the steering committee and program committee members for their great contributions to the ultimate success of SPACE workshop in 2007.
